We Offer

1-to-1 Play Therapy Sessions

We provide individual play therapy sessions for children who may be experiencing emotional, social or behavioural difficulties. Through a safe, nurturing and child-centred approach, children are given the space to express themselves, explore their feelings and develop healthy coping strategies.

Play therapy may support children experiencing:

  • Anger or aggression
  • Anxiety and emotional difficulties
  • Low self-esteem or lack of confidence
  • Communication difficulties
  • Social isolation or difficulties making friendships
  • Family relationship difficulties
  • Challenging behaviours
  • Attachment difficulties
  • Bereavement or loss
  • Trauma or experiences of abuse
  • Bullying or difficulties with peer relationships
  • Withdrawal or difficulty expressing emotions
  • Regular nightmares or sleep-related worries

Every child is unique, so sessions are tailored to their individual needs, experiences and stage of development, helping them feel safe, understood and supported.

- Group Play Therapy

At Casey’s Serenity, we offer play therapy groups when we identify common themes, needs or challenges among children of a similar age who have been referred to us.

Group therapy can provide children with a safe and supportive environment where they can connect with others, develop new skills, build confidence and realise that they are not alone in what they are experiencing.

Groups are carefully planned around the individual needs of the children attending and use play-based, creative and therapeutic activities to support emotional wellbeing and development.

Play therapy groups we have facilitated include:

  • 🌱 Managing Anger – supporting children to understand and express their emotions in healthy ways.
  • 💛 Building Self-Esteem – helping children develop confidence, recognise their strengths and build a positive sense of self.
  • 🌈 Supporting Withdrawn Children – creating opportunities for children to connect, communicate and gradually feel more comfortable expressing themselves.
  • 🎒 Transitioning from Preschool to Primary School – helping children develop confidence and emotional readiness for this important new stage.

We believe that sometimes, having the opportunity to learn, play and grow alongside children who are experiencing similar challenges can be incredibly powerful.
